FESTIVAL OF HOPE

Here at New Hope, we not only take care of our own, but we also use the time, talents, and resources entrusted to us to bring Jesus to our city and around the world.

In normal times, our Pathfinder scouting group would drop off hundreds of grocery lists and bags in the neighborhoods surrounding our church. We’d invite you to furnish 200 turkeys and the groceries to go with them. Then, we’d bag, pack and deliver the goods to four community partners that do a great job in serving our communities.

That’s not happening this year… but we’ve got a plan.

We partner with Grassroots, Hopeworks, LARS, and Sarah’s House to support kids and families in need in our community. Because of COVID-19, all four organizations asked for grocery-store gift cards (Food Lion, Giant, Safeway, Target, Walmart, and Weis). This will allow them to have a better distribution process to meet people’s needs. LARS is asking for 100 turkeys and food for 125 families (see shopping list here).

Here’s how you can help:

  • Drop off gift cards at New Hope or give online here to help us raise the $4,000 needed to meet our goal of 110 $25 cards and 25 $50 cards.
  • Donate groceries (you can drop them off at New Hope between Nov. 16 and Nov. 21. Call 301.854.1866 to let us know you’re dropping them off).
  • Donate a turkey (drop them off at New Hope on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 9am-noon).
  • Pray God’s blessing on those receiving the food.
